Caleb's Crossing

Bridge Hotel, Richmond

We've seen a few old Richmond pubs totally transformed into newly-renovated, modern drinking hubs. The Bridge Hotel transformation doesn’t disappoint. The corner pub facade is really the only thing that's reflective of a traditional Victorian pub. The interior has a cobblestone laneway running through it - oh so ‘Melbourne’ - with different spaces leading from it. Spread over two levels, it feels like you're moving between a collection of different themed bars. Quite unique. The dining area is in a separate, quieter space. We chose a round table in a booth, which was great for our book discussion. Ordering the pub classics is the way to go. The weekends can attract a crowd and you'll often see long queues out the front. It’s a fun place to hang-out.
