Feast of Merit, Richmond

This book begins on a treacherous Winter night - not dissimilar to the night we met for book club. The upside? It was a perfect night for a slow roasted lamb and whole baked fish. We sat at the round table towards the back of the restaurant. I love a round table - everyone can hear the conversation and it's super easy to share 'a feast'. The food tasted like an authentic home-cooked meal with a Middle Eastern influence - with lots of interesting sides to go with our mains. It's a 'feel good' kind of place, perhaps because their philosophy of 'farm to fork', locally sourced, sustainable and seasonable produce brings some ethics into dining out.
